Skye Haven is situated in a secluded and beautiful location

Skye Haven B&B is situated in a secluded and beautiful location. A short walk (5 minutes) will take you to the town centre where you will discover many excellent restaurants, shops, taxi services, and a bus terminal. There is also a delightful old harbour, where you can watch local boats land their daily catch. You can also enjoy a boat trip from which you can see our amazing wildlife – Seals, Dolphins, and Sea Eagles – to name but a few.

Portree is the ideal base for exploring the Isle of Skye – especially the north west of the island. Within half an hours drive you will find places such as the iconic Dunvegan Castle with its excellent visitor facilities, the village of Uig from where ferries leave to the Western Isles, Talisker Distillery where regular tours of the facility take place – and of course the world renowned Cuillin mountains – a mecca for walkers and climbers.

Other activities nearby include – Horse Riding, Boat Trips, Quad Biking, Paintball or Clay Pigeon shooting. In addition there are historic exhibitions to be explored such as the Lady Claire Museum or the Aros Centre in Portree.

Further afield you will find the Reptile Centre in Broadford, Armadale Castle, Neist Point Lighthouse, the Coral Beaches, Glenbrittle Beach and the captivating Fairy Pools. If you would like to sample some of the liquid delights the island has to offer, when in our restaurants, remember to ask for Isle of Skye Ale or one of the Cuillin beers such as Red, Black or Hebridean Gold.

Excellent restaurants can be discovered in Portree such as – the Rosedale, Sea Breezes, The Lower Deck or the Cuillin Hills Hotel. Venturing outside Portree you can find the award winning Three Chimneys Restaurant near Dunvegan and the Stein Inn, Waternish.

Travel to the south of Skye, more commonly known as ‘The Garden of Skye’ – and you will discover the Michelin starred Kinloch Lodge Hotel, Duisdale House Hotel (just won best hotel in Scotland) or my [David] personal favorite, Toravaig House Hotel, where I once worked. It has some of the best food I have ever had the pleasure of serving to guests. It is recommended that both in and out of season you make reservations as all the restaurants we recommend are very popular.
